Clinical rotations:

• Acute Treatment Unit: Provided group therapy and informal individual treatment in a therapeutic milieu. The ATU is a 16-bed facility designed to function as an inpatient alternative for involuntary and voluntary patients with acute and chronic mental illnesses. Patients' length of stay ranged from 72 hours to several years. Performed emergency evaluations and responded to crisis telephone calls. Consulted extensively with the program director, psychologists, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses; supervised by Linda Baum, Ed.D., Richard Hanks, Psy.D. and Scott Poland, Ph.D.

• Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient population consisted of individuals and couples, ages 11 to adult. Clients presented problems such as developmental delays, dual diagnoses, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. Duties included case conceptualization, diagnosing, treatment planning, and therapy. Also responsible for test selection, administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and presentation of findings resulting from full-battery assessments. Referred clients to and consulted with medical staff and community agencies.

• Integrated Service Access System: Performed brief, semi-structured intake interviews with clients of all ages and presenting complaints. Formulated case conceptualizations and diagnoses; wrote reports; and, made appropriate referrals within mental health system. Supervised by Richard Hanks, Psy.D. Assisted in supervision of a master's level therapist. Supervised by Linda Baum, Ed.D.
